A Future Full of Hope

When our founder first set foot in Africa in 2009, it was a life-changing experience that sparked a deep love for the continent’s people and wildlife.
But it was a profound encounter with a wild elephant in Kenya that truly ignited her passion for conservation and cemented her commitment to return to Africa every two years.
What began as personal trips soon grew into something greater. Lori became deeply involved in elephant conservation efforts, organizing immersive adventures for friends and family, which further strengthened her bond with Africa’s wildlife and ecosystems.
These transformative experiences on safari not only opened her eyes to the urgent need to protect elephants but also inspired a greater mission to ensure that tourism, well done thoughtfully, could truly make a difference.
In 2017, Lori’s passion became purpose with the founding of Here Today, Africa Tomorrow (HT/AT), a conservation focused travel company that designs authentic, bespoke safaris in Africa.
Through HT/AT, Lori offers travelers access to exclusive safaris that benefit wildlife and empower local communities. With deep ties to leading conservationists and scientists, HT/AT creates transformative journeys that connect guests to the heart of Africa’s preservation efforts.
Lori’s work has made an impact beyond travel. In 2018, Save The Elephants recognized her as a “Matriarch” for her dedication to wildlife conservation. Her continued involvement with organizations like the Smithsonian and Chicago Zoological Society reflects her commitment to inspiring others to make a difference.

Safari Specialist & Founder, Lori Souder came face to face with her first wild elephant in Kenya more than a decade ago. This profound experience shed light on the critical importance of acting now to save African elephants. Lori's passion & commitment to elephant conservation has been contagious; inspiring others to "say yes" to adventures of a lifetime & take action in conserving this magnificent species.
Not only does Lori lead multiple yearly conservation-focused trips to East Africa & beyond; but, she also advises clients in planning bespoke safaris that cultivate connections and magical experiences beyond their wildest dreams.
